Welcome, U.S. Immigrant Visa Applicants
You are at the Official Immigrant (permanent) Visa support website for the U.S. Embassy in Italy.
Attention Visa Applicants: Impact on Milan Visa Services in August
The Consular Section at the U.S. Consulate General in Milan, Italy, will be undergoing a construction project from August 5-23, 2019, to renovate and upgrade its facilities. Consequently, appointments for all Non-Immigrant Visa services will be affected. Applicants may experience increased wait times for an appointment during this period.
Visa Applicants: The U.S. Consulate General will offer reduced appointment capacity during the dates of the construction project. The Consular Section recommends visa applicants schedule their visa appointments well in advance of travel dates to avoid delayed processing. While it is possible to request an expedited visa appointment through the online appointment system, please note that expedite requests will be approved in emergency cases only (a list of acceptable criteria is available on the online appointment system). The U.S. Embassy in Rome and the U.S. Consulates General in Florence and Naples stand ready to support visa applicants who may be impacted by the reduced visa services at the U.S. Consulate General in Milan.
