Operational Status of Visa Services
The United States Embassy in Nicosia, Republic of Cyprus, has resumed certain immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services. While the Embassy aims to process cases as soon as practicable, there is likely to be increased wait times for completing such services due to substantial backlogs. The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment in the country where it was purchased until December 31, 2021. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at the GSS website to request an emergency appointment. If you require further assistance, please refer to our Help section at the bottom of the page.
Applicants for H1B, H2B, H4, L, and certain J categories covered by Presidential Proclamation 10052 should request an appointment only if you have reason to believe you may qualify for one of the exceptions listed in the Proclamation here: https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspension-entry-immigrants-nonimmigrants-continue-present-risk-united-states-labor-market/.
Please note that all scheduled visa applicants must wear a face covering upon arrival and follow health guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. In order to maintain social distancing, no family members will be allowed to accompany student visa applicants either for interviews or to wait outside the embassy. Please monitor our website and social media for further updates.
