Welcome, U.S. Immigrant Visa Applicants

You are at the Official Immigrant (permanent) Visa support website for the U.S. Embassy in Argentina.

Routine visa services remain suspended at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires

Routine visa services remain suspended at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires. On February 8, the Consular Section began working with the Applicant Service Center (ASC) to begin processing interview waiver cases. Due to the current nature of the pandemic and to ensure the safety of employees and the public, the ONLY cases that will be processed at this time are those that have scheduled interview-waiver appointments at the ASC or have received instructions via email to send the visa renewal application through the DHL courier services. Do not go to the ASC if you do not have an appointment, and do not send your documents via the courier if you have not received an email with specific guidance since your application will not be accepted. Please continue to monitor the U.S. Embassy's web page for future announcements regarding visa services. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided under the Expedited Appointments tab here to request an emergency appointment. Please don't submit an Expedited Appointment Request more than 20 days before your intended travel date.
